Her father went to India to stay with her grandfather and spoke highly of the care he received at a hospital that was supported by VFF in India. Her appreciation of the care her grandfather received inspired Srila to look more deeply into the work of VFF. This led to her learning about the breadth of their programs spanning education, health care, women's empowerment, and more. Soon after she made contact with Ushree Roy, Senior Director of VFF USA, and began what has become a five year journey of volunteering for and fundraising for VFF, a nonprofit she feels passionately about. Her commitment to support VFF has produced extraordinary results. During India Giving Day 2025 Srila raised $3,565 from 173 unique donors by contacting family, friends, local businesses, and even people she didn't know.
